History. Never repeats....great song, no truth to it's title

Hi Scrumptious People,

Occasionally I will have postings relating to my work and our appeals, which unfortunately is not always scrumptious.  Our people on the ground are ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS and need your help to help those who need it.

At the moment a devastating history is very much repeating itself...African Famine.

Millions of children are facing life-threatening hunger and thirst in East Africa as drought devastates the region. Save the Children Australia needs your support to help them survive. Already, a remarkable 24 million litres of water has been provided to over 700,000 people in Somalia and more than 9,000 malnourished children in the Save the Children feeding centres in Somalia have been treated. You can find out what else is being done by visiting the Save the Children Australia website.

I know a lot of people go on about foreign aid and we should fix our own back yard first blah blah blah.  In my opinion, I'm a citizen of the world.  The world is a HUGE place and just because stuff is going on in another part of the world, the world is still MY BACKYARD!  We are human beings with a responsibility to ensure all human life is valued and taken care of, regardless of it's place of origin or location.

At the moment in East Africa Eleven million people are affected, the equivalent of half the entire Australian population. Amongst them are more than two million children who are malnourished, 500,000 are suffering severe malnutrition and need of urgent aid to avert death.

Until later scrumptious people,
xx

p.s I think Rupert Murdoch should donate a bucketload of money to this appeal, a kind of apology for something he knows 'nothing' about!!! Just putting it out there......
