A flood of not so scrumptious memories

Quote of the day: ???
Hello scrumptious people,

I've just had a major meltdown.

I've just seen the news that DNA tests have confirmed that the body of Daniel Morcombe has finally been found.  I cant even to begin to explain the overwhelming feelings that have come over me.

You see, 16 years ago one of my good mates Tabbatha disappeared, also on the Sunshine Coast.  Tab was missing for a total of 2.5 years.  2.5 gruelling hellish years of not knowing where she was, if she was alive, if she were dead, if she was suffering, if she was being held against her will, if she had done it on purpose (we knew she would NEVER have done it on purpose), if she had been taken overseas as a sex slave.... When someone close to you is a missing person every conceivable thought of every conceivable possibility goes through your head....thousands of times every day.

As it turned out, Tabbatha had had a car accident.  Her body was found in her car submerged in a river.  Even though it was a terrible ending because she would not be coming back to us, we got to have some closure and put her to rest with a beautiful beach funeral.  We got our chance to say goodbye and give her a dignified send off.
Tabbatha xo

So hearing the news today that the bones found last week were that of the beautiful young boy Daniel Morcome who has been missing for the last 7 years 9 months has sent an overwhelming flood of really painful memories back.  Memories that were put to rest so many many years ago.

Also amongst those feelings are overwhelming relief for his family.  They can finally bring their boy home and give him the dignified send off he so deserves.  An ending for a family who have been suffering for nearly a decade.

I've got to say though, the Qld Police Service, once again have been a remarkable support for the Morcombe family.  They have been unwavering in their support and dedication to finding Daniel and bringing him home to his family.  Well done to our amazing Qld Police officers.  They were remarkable for Tab's family and friends and I know without any doubt they were as respectful and considerate for the Morcombe family.

Daniel, may you find Tab up there and give her a big kiss for us and know that your family have the entire Australian population behind them.

RIP little one
xoxo
